e15 Karnak Chair by Ferdinand Kramer

Description
Named after the Ancient Egyptian temple precinct, the Karnak Chair is a fusion of historic influence and designer Ferdinand Kramer's modernist sensibilities. Designed in 1925, when Western fantasies of Egyptian exoticism were at their height, the elegant and archetypal chair boasts a refined aesthetic with a nod to Ancient Egypt.
In a form reduced to the essentials, it features an artfully woven seat and a gently curved backrest for optimised comfort and an inviting aesthetic. For additional stability the frame is fitted with a discrete steel profile. The seat itself, reminiscent of furnishings of the time, can be crafted with either a textile band or vegetable-tanned leather which will develop its own patina with exposure to light. With its spare and refined aesthetic the chair Karnak is a signature piece suitable for diverse environments. - Comes in oak or walnut, with a textile weave, natural leather or mocca leather seat.
