Nemo Lighting Applique de Marseille lamp by Le Corbusier

Nemo Lighting Applique de Marseille lamp by Le Corbusier

Description

Le Corbusier designed the Applique de Marseille for his Paris apartment at Rue Nungesser et Coli in 1938. Today it is marketed by Italian company Nemo as part of its Masters collection. The wall lamp is signified with its sculptural feature and funnel construction - spreading the light in two directions creating an interesting and dramatic play between light, shadow and shape.

“Our eyes are made to see forms in light; light and shade reveal these forms; cubes, cones, spheres, cylinders or pyramids are the great primary forms which light reveals to advantage; the image of these is distinct and tangible within us without ambiguity. It is for this reason that these are beautiful forms, the most beautiful forms”.

Please be aware that this lamp normally doesn't have a cord but wires directly into an electrical socket. We have made a special version for the studio x showroom on this image.
